Pancake & Sweater Day

On February 17, 2015, Watters Environmental celebrated Pancake Tuesday and our 2nd Annual WWF National Sweater Day in a joint event hosted by the Living Planet @ Work Team. Pancakes were prepared and served by our very own staff, and topped with all of the fixings – maple syrup, fruit, and whipped cream – a great way to start the morning on a cold and snowy day!

Staff were encouraged to donate $2 for the tasty pancakes, with all funds donated to WWF Canada.

National Sweater Day is a fun way to bring awareness to the importance of saving energy, and hopefully inspires us all to use less heat during the winter. The thermostat in our office was turned down by 2 degrees, and all staff were encourages to wear a warm sweater to not only stay warm, but do our part in saving energy in the office. Heating accounts for 80% of residential energy use in Canada, and is a significant source of emissions. With 100% participation among our staff – whoever was lucky enough to be in the office – Watters Environmental successfully celebrated these events and raised money towards our ongoing fundraising campaign for WWF Canada.
