Environment. People. Community. Our three pillars of sustainability
Our goal with our sustainability program here at Watters Environmental is to emphasize that a company of any size can still make a difference. After a lot of hard work by our Living Planet at Work team, we’re proud to announce that our fourth annual sustainability report is now available! Read through our report to see how we worked towards achieving our sustainability goals this past year (such as waste reduction and energy conservation) and our community participation goals (such as fundraising and volunteering in our community). Highlights from this year included a reduction in our overall company carbon footprint through the purchasing of carbon offsets for business air travel, the implementation of a coffee cup recycling program to further reduce waste, and spending almost 400 volunteer hours in our community through Watters’ organized events and employees’ own personal initiatives.
Making Ripples – the title of our annual Sustainability Report – provides a benchmark of Watters Environmental’s sustainability performance, and also looks ahead to where we are going as a company. It may sound like an unconventional name for such a document; however, we’re also an unconventional company. We believe the impacts we have on this planet and in our community, and similarly the initiatives we undertake to ensure those impacts remain positive, can have far reaching implications – much like the ripples created by a small stone dropping into a large pond.
